Phase 3: Leveraging Skillbridge/Internships

Skillbridges/Internships play a crucial role in facilitating a successful transition. Their significance lies not in guaranteeing a job after your tenure at the chosen company, but rather in providing a valuable opportunity to distance yourself from your military command and adapt to civilian culture. The disparities between military and civilian workplaces are significant, and the key to being well-prepared lies in immersing yourself in the civilian culture.

Most importantly, these Skillbridge’s/internships grant you the gift of time. Therefore, when selecting an opportunity, it's essential to choose one that allows for ample time to transition successfully while developing skills that align with your desired career path.

It's important to remember not to be overly selective. Just because you may not intern with a large tech company does not mean you cannot break into the tech industry. Instead we recommend to focus on utilizing your time wisely during your skill bridge or internship and leverage the experience to your advantage.
